Short History of EuroBSDCon
The inaugural conference (EuroBSDCon) was organized in 2001, November 9th till 11th, under the name BSDCon Europe 2001. It was held at the Thistle Hotel in Brighton (UK).
"The aim of the conference is to provide a focal point for European
users and developers of all the BSD derived operating systems. The
format will be similar to other conferences, with 2 days of technical
sessions over the Saturday and Sunday. The Friday is for "focus
group" gatherings, where smaller groups of users and developers can
meet to discuss specific aspects of the project in greater detail
or to get more in- depth training.
BSD enthusiasts from all around the world are welcome."
EuroBSDCon has been organized “yearly” ever since.
