First off - the coordinates for the venue and SOC:

Fly to Dublin Airport (DUB/EIDW) and transfer to city with Aircoach.
Aircoach-Tickets can be bought online, at the airport or just walk up to the bus (cash or contactless); the
ticket is about 10 Eur to the city centre. Follow “Bus” signs after exit across the bridge, turn right to go downstairs. Ticket booth is directly at the end of the stairs. They’ll show you the stop and the driver will check tickets so you’re not entering the wrong one.
Dublin provides tram and bus. The conference venue can be reached via the stops 768 and 764 - see LocalBus for details on walking between those stations and venue.
Parking at UCD (conference venue) isn’t arranged - and unlikely to happen over proposed cost (25E/h). So park at your acco and take the bus, please.
If you really want to park at the venue, you’ve to register for being allowed to look for a slot (no guarantee!). See the process and register code in this PDF doc.
If you fly out on sunday already we can put that in a hold room at the venue (no cost).
This offer is for LUGGAGE and not coats, umbrellas and kitchensinks.
The main rooms, conservatory, toilets and Check-In are on the same floor, no stairs.
Tutorial rooms are one floor above and also reachable via a lift/elevator.
Walking from the bus stops at Stillorgan Rd is with very little elevation BUT some
steps on the direct route. Access via the parking lot is possible with a wheel chair,
please contact us if you need details on that (additional parking is in the north-west).
Yes. And quickly changing, too. Bring “layers” and an umbrella that can be blown away (or to pieces). Latest 10d forecast.
We’ll provide coffee+tea+water at all breaks and some nibbles as “2nd breakfast”
after the first lectures.
There will be hot lunch with some options - we cannot provide a full menu
description now, please check back later.
The Check-In desk is staffed throughout and will act for lost+found, too. But not for your filesystems.
Spouses and kids need to have a way to spend the day, we cannot provide any kind of daycare, cinemas, whatchacallit. Esp. do not bring infants to the venue, please.
No pets. Exceptions have to be arranged for blindness support, please contact us.
The room ‘Cedar’ is open on Saturday and Sunday 09-18. This is meant for having a QUIET place to sit down and work on stuff.
This is NOT a “lounge” to hang out and chit/chat - you can do that in the hallways.
If you need space for a group/discussion, please contact pc@ and we look if we can arrange something in some other place.
Please bring your order confirmation with you - at least your 5 char booking code.
Check-In will be just after entering the building to the right where you can collect
your badge and get directions/T-Shirt/..
We do not provide tickets-for-cash at the venue. If you happen to really pay in cash please register days early and contact us so we can arrange something.
If you cannot make it, please contact us BEFORE the conference for a refund.
You MUST bring your badge - if you’ve registered companions, the badge should show
a number >1 next to the ‘SOC’ label. If something seems amiss please tell so
at check-In at the venue already.
You’ll get a food plater and three tokens for drinks. Advise for top/special
spending: the venue has payments with credit card only (stripe/paypal/UK-debit)

For non-EU roamers, there are options like: - Pocket/mobile wifi: some operators (unchecked) wificandy, HIP. And check that your phone (US/CA) covers dual-band (900/1800MHz).
The Wifi network provides public IP addresses but restricts any inbound connection. The wire based ports are also restricted on inbound (tutorials).
